Liri Kopaci-Di Michele has over 20 years of international management experience at organizations including the Council of Europe, the EU and the World Bank. Her experience includes dealing with the highest levels of government and international management levels to define and analyse their requests and needs and develop strategic solutions and cooperation.
She is currently Head of the Equality Division at the Council of Europe in charge of promoting and implementing Council of Europe standards and activities in the area of gender equality, the rights of persons with disabilities and discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity. Since joining the Council of Europe in 1997, she has worked in a variety of positions including Deputy-Head of the Private Office of the President of the Parliamentary Assembly and Adviser in the Private Office of the Secretary General. Her experience includes development and management of cooperation projects in the field of human rights (media, trafficking in human beings, children and women rights). Ms Kopaci-Di Michele graduated with a MSc. in Management from the University of Surrey in England and a BA in English Language from the University of Tirana in Albania.
