Lee Ann Schwope Cochran is the Vice President of Business Development and Sales for Battelle. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio since its founding in 1929, Battelle serves the national security, health/ life sciences, energy and environmental industries. Lee Ann completed her Bachelor's degree in Material Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University. Ms. Cochran has experience in leading teams in research, manufacturing, commercialization and sales. Over her career she has developed go-to-market strategies, led a product through production scale-up, designed ISO 9001:2000 quality systems and worked a number of transformation initiatives. She has worked on engineering programs for commercial companies, Department of Energy (DOE), multiple branches of the Department of Defense (DOD), National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
In Soroptimist she is currently serving as the Midwestern Region Fundraising Chair, Columbus & Franklin County Public Awareness Chair and a Laurel Society member. Lee Ann is on the Board of Directors for Battelle Japan, WEPAN (Women in Engineering ProActive Network), The Ohio Aerospace Institute and Leadership Columbus. The Women for Economic Leadership and Development (WELD) honored her in 2013 as one of twelve "Women You Should Know'. Ms. Cochran is a diversity champion and led the Women's Network at Battelle for 3 years. In 2015 she was selected as a Women's History Month Honoree at Battelle. Lee Ann is also a member of Junior League of Cleveland, Women in Defense, WEPAN and the Industrial Research Institute.
Lee Ann and her husband Chad live in Cleveland Ohio. They have 3 children Seth, Joshua and Isabel. In her downtime she enjoys traveling, reading, and genealogy research.
