Lale Kaplan, born in Erzurum in 1961, studied law in Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi and specialized on Air Law, Alliance and M&A. She started working as a Legal Counselor at Turkish Airlines, and then became the Deputy Chief Legal Counsel. Upon changing her department to Commercial Department, she worked as the regional director of UAE, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Bahrain and Sri Lanka between 2003 and 2007. Before her retirement from Turkish Airline in 2009, she became the Senior Vice President of International Affairs and Alliances and leaded integration of Turkish Airlines into Star Alliance. Since then, she is the Chief Legal Counsel of Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. She is the president of Pendik Soroptimist Club. In addition, she has given lectures at different universities regarding the hot topics of Air Law. She is married, with one child and speaks English.
